EUROPE + 6 MONTHS + 2 KIDS + WORKING HOLIDAY

Hi -  welcome to my very first post!

As I soak my feet in the warm thermal pool at the Aquaworld resort, located on the outskirts of Budapest, I thought it's the perfect time to put pen to paper as they say, or in this day and age, fingers to keyboard.  Plus, it’s also the perfect time to make the most being child free for a few hours this afternoon!

I have been eager to start blogging for sometime now and although I have found many inspiring places to get me started since arriving in Europe with my young family, I just couldn’t seem to find that little voice that kicks me in the butt and says start writing damn it….until now that is!!

So here it is in all its glory - raw, real, a little mischievous along with a well-made cocktail by my side.

I'm Natalija and when I’m not stepping on Lego or being forced to watch My Little Pony episodes on Netflix I feel like I have the best job in the world. I'm a fashion-obsessed mother of 2 beautiful children Kasija (6 years), Maksim (1 year) and the wife to a levelheaded husband who has a knack for keeping this creative and ambitious mumtrepreneur grounded. I am the founder and designer behind the La Vera Kids brand. Currently travelling Europe, aiming to expand the stockist portfolio – plus, I joke that I’m the resident poop cleaner, cook and former baby incubator.

To give you a little insight into my hectic and somewhat questionable crazy world you probably need to know a few behind the scene facts. The La Vera name is inspired by my late vivacious mother Vera who has been my unequivocal inspiration and strength throughout my fashion career. Since having my daughter it has been a natural progression from women’s wear to children’s fashion.  Ultimately launching my own Little Rebels Collection by La Vera Kids – A little whimsical, a little luxurious and a little playful, all in equal measures, with sprinkles on top is how I would describe the baby and children’s shoes and accessories collection.

With my international background and the inception of my new brand idea aka La Vera Kids, I thought it was the ideal time to grab the kids + husband and jet off to Europe for 6 months to network with like minded children’s fashion professionals in the hope to take inspiration from "Europe" as a whole, and being here for the next season's collection while enjoying a family holiday. The cafes, tourist attractions, resorts and parks are my makeshift office – Europe + 6 months + 2 kids + working holiday :-)

With the help of a beautiful friend Marija back home who sends out orders to my customers, it has allowed us to make what some may think improbable with 2 small children in tow completely possible and the unconventional seem normal.

I hope to share our adventures, all sorts of travel advice and quirky moments from this European winter and spring, even if it is just my girlfriends & sympathetic family back home who read it.
