Hungary
Thermal baths aplenty!
Hungary might be famous for its medicinal thermal pools and paprika-spiced cuisine, but there's so much more to discover beyond Budapest and goulash. Start your journey in Budapest, where history and modernity dance together along the banks of the Danube. Take a family stroll across the Chain Bridge, or splash about in the thermal baths—because nothing says family bonding like lounging in a naturally heated pool! Then, head to Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe, often dubbed the “Hungarian Sea.” Here, you can enjoy a family-friendly day of sailing, swimming, or just building sandcastles on its shores. Imagine a land where rolling vineyards meet serene lakes, and fairytale castles are nestled against the backdrop of the majestic Carpathians. Hungary is a treasure trove of diverse regions, each offering its own unique slice of adventure perfect for the whole family.

Our experience - The first time went to Budapest in 2017, we stayed at the incredible Aquaworld Resort just outside Budapest. When you stay at the resort you get access to the HUGE waterpark and all it’s features including the babysitting play area. The kids loved the resort so much that we extended our stay from 3 to 8 nights and used it as a base to explore Budapest. Check out our blog post on the Aquaworld Resort.
